So why did no one warn me when I was in junior high that "crushes" don't go away after puberty? I mean, you would think it would be like acne--once you hit a certain age, you just don't have to worry about it anymore.
No, I could not be so lucky. 'Course, my crushes get further complicated by the fact that, for some reason over the past few years, I've decided (not really decided, more circumstantial) to have crushes on guys that I work with. That's especially bad when you work for a small company, because everybody wants to get involved and play matchmaker.
So far, it doesn't seem like anyone's stuck their nose in too far. Well, I'm not completely sure if anybody's picked up on it. And maybe there's nothing to pick up on. I mean, I've let myself develop a pretty good-sized crush on this guy, despite the fact that he's a Republican (and that's a big obstacle for me to overcome!), and I really don't know if the attraction is mutual. I think it might be, but then I wonder if I'm just seeing what I want to see. It'd be nice to just know--because if I knew he wasn't interested, I could nip it in the bud. But there's not an easy way to find out without having to deal that whole "possibility of rejection" thing. Now, I don't have a big ego--I could handle being rejected. BUT when you work together--well, then it would just end up being awkward.
I'm beginning to understand the appeal of arranged marriages...

I should read this blog more often. I haven't talked with you in a long, long time. You know my e-mail address, I'll write if you do. Aha! A clue: No crush that I know of and I'm closer to the Black Sea than you are.
