New Wheels

I got a new car today! It's a 2007 Toyota Matrix, and it's my first brand new car. It's kind of weird--I almost feel like I am driving someone else's car! I'm sure I'll get used to it very soon though. I wasn't really planning on buying something for awhile, because my Honda was almost paid off and I was looking forward to no car payments. But the transmission start slipping on my drive home from PA, so I get to keep the car payment--but I am definitely going to enjoy the car! :)

Happy New Year to me...

It appears I will be starting out 2007 with a new car. If I were wanting a new car, that would probably be a good thing. Unfortunately, it appears I will be getting a new car because my beloved 1998 Honda Accord, which has seen me through more than 100,000 miles and just shy of four years, needs a new transmission, and as much I love, the old girl is just worth sinking that kind of money into anymore--even though the engine (with 175,000+ miles on it) still purrs like a kitten.

The worst part of the whole deal is that the car would have been paid off in four months, and I would have had the bliss of no car payment. Since I have to get a new car though, I'd like to get some kind of hatchback/wagon that I can put Alex in so I won't have fur all over the backseat. I don't like the way SUVs drive and I need something with good gas mileage because of my commute, so I have done a little research online, and pretty much narrowed it down to a Toyota Matrix, a Mazda3 Hatchback or a Honda Fit. I may go do some test driving tomorrow night. Wish me luck--and a not-too-painful car payment!
