Nothing to Say

Yeah, I know, I know--I started this blog because I wasn't writing as much for work since I did a career switch, and I needed a creative outlet. Now half the time I barely write in it. But, honestly, sometimes I just don't have anything to talk about.

I mean, the Super Bowl got me all hyped up for a bit, but after that, then what? Let's see...Alex is as adorable as always. I like my new job--people are fun and easy to get along with, and I don't have to take out a loan to fill my tank or buy groceries anymore. Yes, for all my relatives who think I'm going to be an old maid, I am still single. There's just not much going on.

And that sounds really sad, like my life is boring. But the truth is, my life is good. Right now, it's pretty simple, but sometimes you need simple. Since I'm not constantly obsessing about finances now, I can take time to savor the little things--the way my dog looks at me like I'm the best person he knows, how good it feels to ride with the windows down and the music up on those blissfully spring-like days you sometimes get during February in the Carolinas.

For a long time, pretty much from the time I started college until fairly recently, I've felt like my life was constantly "amped up." There was always some kind of drama--at work, with friends, in relationships, whatever. Right now, even though there are still some significant changes going on (like the new job and getting ready to move), I feel comfortable. Like I'm drifting slowly with the current--not sure of my exact course, but knowing that I'm headed in the right direction.
