New beginnings

Randi and I are officially moved! We moved everything we could in our cars Friday, then got a couple of guys from my job to help us move the furniture yesterday. And now, the unpacking begins...

I love this new house. It just feels like a home. I've taken Monday off work, so hopefully I'll be completely unpacked and decorated by the time I go back to work. And then we need visitors! We may have some kind of housewarming party, but probably not till June, since we're broke from moving right now.

I am really ecstatic to have finally moved, since besides getting us out of a cramped apartment with neighbors who hated us (feeling was mutual), it's also kind of a chance to get a fresh start. Randi and I have both been kind of hit with a lot lately--boy issues, friend issues, money issues, job issues, you name it, we've been through it. But in the grand scheme of things, none of them have been insurmountable challenges, and we are really much more fortunate than many. We have our health, we have friends and family who care about us, we have laughter, and we a (very nice) roof over our heads. So this move is giving us a chance to clean out the clutter in our lives (literally and figuratively), be reminded of the great things we have, and get a fresh start. From time to time, the soul needs renewal.

And in other news... my best friend from high school, Dixie, is marrying my cousin Kevin. Especially ironic since I used to have a huge crush on her cousin! Also, I may be doing the photography. I did my brother's wedding last fall, and it was a lot of work, but I was pleased with the results, and I think they were too, so there's a nice sense of satisfaction that goes with it.

Congratulations girl! I'm so happy that you and Randi like your new place. I hope it gives you a sense of comfort and security. Make plenty of happy memories and you'll be fine. Hopefully, I'll be up to visit soon!
